Skill Advancement Courses 2007

These courses are recommended for qualified carpenters ONLY.

Solid Surface Installer Certification -- None scheduled at this time.     
This course introduces the installation methods for Gibraltar.  The focus will be on the special features of Gibraltar such as seams, cutouts, repairs, finishing and installation. Participants completing the course will be certified installers for Gibraltar, Surell, Avonite, Corian, Pionite, Solid Surface. (Prerequisite: Proficiency with power tools such as the router and sander.)  Enrollment Fee:  No fee

Solid Surface Refresher -- Course Length: 8 Hours -  Saturday, February 10, 2007 (Start 7:00 A.M.)  
This course is for persons whose Solid Surface installer certification card is expired or about to expire.  There is a 1 year grace period to renew certification card, after which time the entire course must be taken. (Prerequisite: Solid Surface Installer Card)  Enrollment Fee:  No fee

Note:  Participants shall bring their Solid Surface Installer certification card.  The card number is needed for the registration form.  If a member has not completed refresher training prior to the expiration date, the completion card is suspended until required training is completed.

First Aid/CPR/AED - Saturday, January 27, 2007 (starting at 7 a.m.)

Layout/Laser Tools - Saturday, February 24, 2007 (starting at 7 a.m.)

Layout/Levels - Saturday, March 10, 2007 (starting at 7 a.m.)

Layout/Levels &Theodolites - Saturday, March 17, 2007 (starting at 7 a.m.)

Layout/Theodolites (Prerequisite: Layout/Level/Theodolite - Saturday, March 24, 2007 (starting at 7 a.m.)

NOTE TO ALL APPRENTICES:  All apprentices are encouraged to complete all Certification/Qualification courses; however, Apprentices must always work under the direction of a qualified journeyman.

Due to class size limitation, early enrollment is encouraged.
