U.B.C. Conveyor
and Monorail Qualification Program and U.B.C./USPS Bulk Mail Center
Qualification Program. Prerequisites: (1) Millwright Qualification Card or Millwright
Apprentice. (2) UBC Rigging Qualification (3) UBC Aerial Lift
Operator Qualification (4) UBC Powered Industrial Truck Operator
Qualification (Only Industrial Forklift Required) Enrollment

INTERNATIONAL TRAINING CENTER IN LAS VEGAS.
U.B.C. G.E. Gas Turbine Qualification Program Outage- 5 Day Workshop
-- Course Length: 5 Days at the U.B.C. International Training Center
(not counting travel time). Call the Training Center for dates and
details.
This five day hands-on workshop is conducted at the U.B.C. International
Training Center in Las Vegas, NV. The member will apply knowledge
gained from the workshop requirements of this program to safely
and efficiently disassemble and reassemble a G.E. Frame 5 Gas Turbine.

Prerequisite:
(1) Complete the U.B.C./G.E. Turbine Qualification Familiarization
Program (offered at the Lebanon Training Center)
(2) Complete the Millwright 16 Hour Safety Course
(3) Complete the U.B.C. Rigging Qualification Program
(4) U.B.C. Hytorc Bolting Technicians Qualification Workshop
(Included in the Familiarization class)
(5) Have a current Millwright Qualification Card or Millwright Apprentice
Note: Registration will be made
through the Lebanon Training Center. To work on G.E. Turbines
apprentices must also complete this training course. However,
apprentices must always work under the direction of a qualified
journeyman.
Laser
Shaft Alignment Systems -- None
scheduled at this time.
Upon successful completion of this training course, the trainee
will be able to identify with 100% accuracy, the components of a
standard laser alignment system. Follow the Laser Alignment
procedures to correct soft foot to .002". Also align
machinery to .002". Be able to utilize safe work procedures
by observing all safety procedures, rules, and regulations in aligning
machinery using laser alignment equipment. Enrollment

Prerequisite:
(1) Must possess detailed knowledge of Dial indicating procedures
(2) Have a current Millwright Qualification Card or Millwright Apprentice
U.B.C. Westinghouse Combustion Turbine
Program Refresher -- None
scheduled at this time.
This workshop (refresher) is designed for U.B.C. qualified millwrights
that work on gas turbines. This training also applies to all
jobs that require torquing/tensioning of bolts. It covers
the common techniques for torquing/tensioning bolts. Members
who successfully complete the "Bolting Technique Qualification"
workshop will become "Hytorc Qualified Bolting Technicians".
(Prerequisite: U.B.C. Westinghouse
Combustion Turbine card. Refresher training must be completed
within one year of the expiration date listed on the U.B.C. Westinghouse
Combustion Turbine Program card. After one year period, the
full workshop must be repeated. If a member has not completed
refresher training prior to the expiration date, the U.B.C. Westinghouse
Combustion Turbine Program completion card is suspended until training
is completed.) Enrollment Fee:

Note: Participants "Shall" bring their
Westinghouse Combustion Turbine card. The card number is needed
for the registration form.
U.B.C. Hytorc Bolting Technician Qualification

(1) Course is the refresher for the U.B.C. Westinghouse Combustion
Turbine
(2) It is now part of the U.B.C. Westinghouse Combustion Turbine
Program
(3)Course also required for the proposed GE gas and steam turbine
courses
(4) Recommendation from the U.B.C., that all qualified millwrights
should receive this training
(5) Millwrights who need refresher will have priority.

Millwright 16 Hour Safety Course -- See OSHA 30/PSM. The
U.B.C. Westinghouse 16 Hour Safety Course has been updated and renamed
the Millwright 16 Hour Health and Safety Course. This safety
course is a requirement of the U.B.C. Siemens Westinghouse CT Program,
the GE Gas Turbine Qualification, and highly recommended for the
USPS Bulk Mail Qualification Program. Participants completing
this course will also receive an OSHA 10 hour card and Smart Mark
Qualification. This course will discuss safety problems that
plague millwrights and methods to stop serious injuries.

Millwright Qualification Program
-- To meet the requirements of the Millwright Qualification Program,
a member must meet one of the following requirements:
(1) Complete a Millwright Apprenticeship program recognized by the
United Brotherhood of Carpenters.
(2) Complete written and manipulative equivalency testing.
(3) If a person holding a qualified millwright card is released
from three [3] jobs because of skill deficiencies, that member is
required to retake all the millwright qualification tests. After
the testing is complete, the member will receive the necessary re-training
requirements for completion.

are encouraged to complete all Certification/Qualification courses;
however, Apprentices must always work under the direction of a qualified
journeyman.
