Skill Advancement Courses 

These courses are recomended for all members of the UBC.

Industrial Forklift Truck Operator and Refresher -- This course is a comprehensive training course designed for both new and experienced lift truck operators. If you are an experienced operator, this course will help you fine tune your operating skills and refresh your understanding of safe operating procedures.  If you are a relatively new operator, in addition to benefiting from the material presented in the course, you will have the opportunity to learn from the experiences of other operators in the class. (Prerequisite: None)  Enrollment Fee:No fee
Note: Recommended for qualified Millwrights.

Lift Truck Operator Refresher (Lift Truck Operator has a three year expiration, check your card to see if you need this refresher) --  SEE ABOVE.  This is a new course and requirement.  The course is for persons whose Lift Truck Operator card is expired or about to expire.  There is a one year grace period to renew qualification cards after which time the entire course must be taken. (Prerequisite:  Lift Truck Operator card)  Enrollment Fee: No fee
 
Note:
If a member has not completed refresher training prior to expiration date, the completion card is suspended until required training is completed.  Participants shall bring the Lift Truck Operator card.  The card will be needed for registration form.

All Terrain Forklift (Prerequisite Industrial Forklift)

Aerial Lifts -- Following Ansi standards, this workshop develops the skills necessary to safely operate "Self-Propelled Platforms" (Scissor Lifts) and "Boom-Supported Platforms".  (Prerequisite: None)  Enrollment Fee:  No fee

Note:
Recommended for qualified Millwrights.  Required for USPS Bulk Mail Program.

NOTE TO ALL APPRENTICES:  All apprentices are encouraged to complete all Certification/Qualification courses; however, Apprentices must always work under the direction of a qualified journeyman.
